Examples of high-priority topics include: mapping and mitigating urban heat islands and thermal stress; adapting infrastructure and water systems to increased extreme events; analyzing climate justice and socio-environmental inequalities in vulnerable urban areas; developing urban agriculture and supply chains to strengthen food resilience; analyzing biodiversity loss and ecological fragmentation in metropolitan environments; exploring low-carbon projects, construction materials, and sustainable urban planning; and integrating citizen-generated data and digital tools into climate-related urban governance.
Proposals will be evaluated and ranked by a joint committee from USP and CNRS, based on criteria such as project originality, the quality of the training environment for the PhD students involved, interdisciplinary collaboration between teams, potential for future cooperation, and plans to secure competitive external funding.
Proposals must be submitted exclusively on the CNRS website by November 3, in electronic format and in English.
